European Larch . This softwood when first cut is reddish-brown but fades to silver after exposure to the sun. This wood originates from colder climates throughout Europe most predominantly from the northern regions.
This durable timber can be used for a range of projects including Cladding, Fencing, Exterior Joinery, Flooring, Decking and Sleepers. The heartwood of the tree is naturally hard and durable without the use of preservatives.
European Larch machines and finishes well, taking varnish easily. However, it is prone to splitting when using nails or screws, so pre-drilling is recommended.
